3/30/2026-STAGE 2 WATERING RESTRICTIONS

The Steamboat II Metro District, as a customer of the City of Steamboat Springs water system, is implementing Stage 2 drought restrictions in alignment with the City and Mt. Werner Water.

These measures come in response to the warmest winter on record and historically low snowpack across regional river basins.

Stage 2 restrictions include additional limits on outdoor water use, including:

  • No vehicle washing at residences
  • No washing of driveways, sidewalks, or other hard surfaces
  • No operation of decorative outdoor water features
  • No use of treated water for dust control

Customers are encouraged to delay irrigation system activation until June 1st and reduce outdoor watering.

These actions are necessary to help preserve water supplies through the summer months.

Additional restrictions may be implemented if conditions worsen.

Yesterday, I sent an email blast that included the new water rates and the District Manager’s Year in Review letter. Unfortunately, the links in the first message were broken (my mistake). I have since resent the email with the corrected links.
I’m sharing the information again below in case you’re still looking for it.
The water rates actually are already on our website under “RESOURCES” and “DOCUMENTS”, but here they are again.
And here is the letter from Jeb Brewster, 2025 in review.
